Outdoor

Priced properly, or not at all

Outdoor is the one job we will not put a number on until we understand it. Here is exactly why.

No set price

Because the honest range is too wide to mean anything

A TV under an existing covered patio, with power already out there and a stud wall to hit, is a straightforward afternoon. A large screen on an exposed outdoor stone chimney, needing a weather-rated mount and power run from inside, is a different job entirely.

Any single number that covered both would be wrong for one of you. Usually it is wrong on the phone and then corrected in your back yard, which is the part everyone hates.

So we ask about the surface, the size, the cover and the power, and then we quote it. Sometimes that is on the call. Sometimes it needs eyes on it. Either way the number you get is the number.

Outdoor + mantel mount

Weatherproof and at eye level

This covered-patio install pairs an outdoor set with a pull-down mantel mount — tucked up out of the way for the party, pulled down and angled for the game. If your outdoor TV is going above a fireplace or a high wall, it is worth asking about.

What we will ask

Four questions, then a real answer

  1. 1

    The surface

Stone, brick, stucco, timber or siding — each one is a different mount and a different bit.

  2. 2

    The size

Weight decides the mount, and the mount decides a lot of the price.

  3. 3

    The cover

Fully covered, partly covered or open sky. This is the one that decides whether your TV survives.

  4. 4

    The power

Already out there, or does it need to come from inside?

Questions

Straight answers

How much does an outdoor TV installation cost?

There is no set price, and we will not invent one. Outdoor depends on the surface, the size, the mount type and how power and signal get out there. We scope it properly and then quote it — call and a real person (or Beau) will take the details 24/7.

Why not just give a starting price?

Because outdoor jobs range too widely for a number to mean anything. A TV under an existing covered patio with power already run is a different job to a stone chimney in open weather. A fake starting price would just be a number we would have to change later.

Can you mount a TV on an outdoor stone fireplace?

Yes — outdoor stone and brick are both routine. Weather exposure changes the mount and the cable route, so it is worth us looking at it.

Do I need a special outdoor TV?

If it is exposed to weather, yes. Under a fully covered patio you have more options. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in before you spend money on the wrong set.

Describe the spot.

Surface, size, how covered it is, and where the nearest outlet is. That is enough for us to tell you where you stand.
