Zilker AV is David and Kallisti: a two-man Austin crew with big-venue installs behind us and a simple rule in front of us. Leave it cleaner than we found it.
The short version
Where the experience comes from
Before Zilker AV had a name, this crew hung screens across Austin's biggest rooms: the overhead TVs at Austin-Bergstrom's entry doors, the Tesla Gigafactory, Flix Brewhouse theaters, St. David's, Kalahari Resorts, H-E-B and Lowe's stores, and half the bars you already know. Roughly twenty years of combined installs, the kind that get inspected and signed off.
That history is why the residential work feels different. Big venues teach discipline: protect the site, test everything, document the wiring, leave nothing behind. Your living room gets the same treatment, with drop cloths.
One name note, for the record: we used to operate as Zilker AV & Lighting. The lighting side is retired. Same people, same phone, all AV.
What makes Zilker AV different from other Austin TV mounting companies?
Two things: every anchor goes into solid stone or brick, never the mortar, and the two owners do every install themselves. Stone holds; mortar crumbles. That single rule is why the fireplace work other installers surcharge or dodge is the job we do most, from $179.

Anchors go into the stone itself. Mortar crumbles and lets go. This is the hill of hills we'll die on.

Big sets get four hands. Nobody asks you to lift a corner of your own TV.

Anything with a set price gets said out loud on the call. Anything without one gets scoped honestly instead of guessed.

We cover the city, but most of our stone work is west and south: Dripping Springs, Driftwood and Wimberley. Long drives are normal for us. Ask and we'll tell you honestly whether we can get to you today.

Is Zilker AV the same company as Zilker AV & Lighting?
Same crew, simpler name. The lighting side was retired to focus on what we actually do all day: TV mounting, home theater and AV. If you found an old listing under the longer name, you found us.
Are you connected to Zilker Park or Zilker the neighborhood?
Only by hometown affection. Zilker AV is an independent TV mounting and home theater company serving the whole Austin metro, named for the part of town, not run by the parks department.
Who actually shows up to my house?
David and Kallisti, the two people who own the company. No subcontractors, no rotating crew of strangers. The names on the reviews are the people at your door.
